Power Beyond the Crisis: Exploring Community Pathways to Safety During COVID-19

Power Beyond the Crisis: Exploring Community Pathways to Safety During COVID-19

In this webinar, WIRE will be joined by an incredible panel of presenters with lived and work experience in family violence, the criminal legal system, support and advocacy.

The presenters will share practical strategies and responses they have come across within their communities to family and intimate partner violence and other forms of power and control. The webinar will explore:

  • How do we understand safety? How has this changed during the COVID-19 pandemic?
  • What barriers to safety have we come across? How are people overcoming those barriers?
  • What responses have we seen from the service sector? What community responses have we been a part of?
  • What are the creative ways that people are building safety and resilience for themselves and their communities?

This webinar is for anyone interested in hearing the ways that power and safety are being built in communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes anyone that is a part of a community that is working towards safety, workers in the family violence sector, volunteers and researchers.
